Belize destinations are attractive to many travelers, as Belize has a myriad of exotic activities for people of all tastes. Water is a main focus, as Belize offers some of the best fishing, snorkeling, boating, and scuba diving of anywhere in the globe. People come from all over the globe to see the whale sharks that populate its sparkling waters.
Fishing is one of the most popular attractions of Belize destinations. Some of the fish that visitors catch on a regular basis include tuna, permit, and jacks. Even more exciting, a regular catch is the frightening barracuda, which puts up a mighty fight but proves to be an exciting and rewarding prize.
Belize Destinations on Land and at Sea
Aside from fishing, the clear waters of Belize are also known for providing some of the most interesting scuba diving and snorkeling in Central America. The reefs and the fish that live in and around them are beautifully colored, and abundant as well. In deeper water, one can see entire schools of tropical fish, along with the great whale shark, which often grows to lengths of over fifty feet.
On land, Belize has just as much to offer. Belize features some of the greatest of the Mayan ruins, with many historic and curious architectural remains available for viewing. Furthermore, many travelers choose to explore the hills and caves hidden in the mountains throughout Belize.
